Indorama Group is one of Asia’s leading chemical group. Its origins trace back to 1975 with the start-up of Indo-Rama Synthetics in Indonesia by its founders, (Late) Mr. M.L. Lohia and his son Mr. S.P. Lohia.
Indorama manufactures a multitude of products including Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polyesters, Fertilizers, Textiles, and Medical Gloves. It is the largest producer of Polyolefin in West Africa, the largest producer of fertilizers in Sub-Saharan Africa and the largest producer of synthetic disposable gloves in the world. It is also one of the most international and geographically diversified producer of spun yarns in the world.

ICS History
Formerly, Compagnie Sénégalaise des Phosphates de Taiba (CSPT) began production and export of Phosphate in 1960, while Phosphoric Acid Unit started production in 1984. The group ICS and CSPT got merged into a new company called ICS in 1996, thus ensuring integrated operation of mine to phosphate fertilizers under one roof.

Industries Chimiques du Senegal (ICS) is an Indorama Group company situated in Senegal West Africa. ICS is Senegal’s largest industrial complex and also the largest producer of phosphate fertilizers in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is an integrated complex starting from the mining of rock phosphate, ore beneficiation, Sulphuric Acid production, Phosphoric Acid production and fertilizer products such as DAP and NPK
ICS has well integrated logistics, including access to railway system, its own fleet of locomotives, rail wagons, and dedicated berth at Dakar port. ICS sells Phosphoric Acid to India and fertilizer products in Senegal & the ECOWAS region.
ICS is the biggest Industrial complex in Senegal with three sites in operation:
- TAIBA Mine- Located about 100 Km from Dakar. TAIBA Senegal has extensive reserves of exceptionally high quality phosphate.
- DAROU- Two Phosphoric Acid Plants with total production capacity of 600,000 Tons P2O5 per annum.
- Phosphate Fertilizers (DAP, NPKs) Plant located at MBAO in Dakar, with an installed capacity of 250 000 MT Per annum
