Fertilizer Site: phosphate fertilizers for West Africa |
|
ICS has a complex fertilizer manufacturing unit at the MBAO
site, 18 km from Dakar. Most of the granulated fertilizer
is intended for the West African subregional market, principally
for cotton, peanut, and vegetable growing.
|
 |
|
ICS
produces its complete or "NPK" fertilizers by combining phosphoric
acid with ammonia and potash. Indeed, Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous
(P) and Potassium (K) are the essential nutrients plants need
to grow.
DAP production is also an important aspect developped
inside the fertilizer site.
